John’s character, Khione Bifrost, arrives at the The Titan’s Tavern separate from the party.
Krieg wakes first; Talks with Nigar and inspects the cart the party will take. It’s loaded with travel rations. Nothing is out of the ordinary.
Cipher is paranoid as ever. Nigar introduces Khione Bifrost to the party after Cipher has been carefully watching her.
The party sorts out how they plan to descend the mountain. The party agrees that the most direct path is the best path, and will follow the travel plans of the covered caravan through Cruel Haven.
Nigar offers Travel Notes to the party. Athredon Giltikeaneac takes it from him.
The party arrives at Edgetown by nightfall. It’s not as snowy as Eastdrift. It’s rather somber looking and seems to be a merchant city. Despite the hustle and bustle, the gloominess is rather oppressive not because of the people, but rather the horizon. The smoky, neverending fog with a hint of a mountain’s silhouette is in the distance. Buildings are encased in ash just outside the city limits.
The party agrees to stay the night here. Some walk into the inn.
An orc woman storms up and says “It’s about damn time!”
Cipher’s speech is muffled by the tin foil he normally wears.
The orc woman confirms the party was sent by Nigar and hands a set of four keys to Khione Bifrost and introduces herself as Urzoth. She states Nigar has covered room, board, and meals for the party.
Khione asks why it’s so busy despite it being nighttime. Urzoth answers that the ash cuts out the sunlight, and states concerns about needing to go further up the mountain.
Cipher asks for directions for an armorsmith to attach the Gem Encrusted Quill to a helmet. Urzoth gives easy to understand directions. The armorsmith charges 4 gold and gets to work. Cipher asks for directions to a weaponsmith. He purchases a bow.
Khione asks Urzoth for directions for camping supply and a place to buy a pickaxe.
Krieg and Radahn eat their meals at the bar and speak to the bartender about directions to Cruel Haven. Radahn reviews the travel notes and finds that the caravan travels underground, and suggests that the caravan’s route is likely long-term and so there may be signs of wear and tear in the cavern.
Jericho and Krieg both pay 2 silver for Barbasol soap, the 9 in 1 brand.
Khione sleeps in the wagon despite Jericho is currently keeping watch. Krieg pulls utensils out of Cipher’s throat after finishing Jericho’s meal. Jericho’s rifle accidentally falls on Khione during the scene.
Radahn sees Krieg stomp past him, fully intending to wash up and go to sleep. Radahn steps outside. “What the hell happened?”

Urzoth mentions the underground area has some areas that would be better off without without light. Vegetation has a 50/50 chance of trying to kill us.
A few hours into the dungeon might be a good time to turn off light.
The party arrives at the mouth of the cave system. The session ends.
