Wagon has some runes and is now led by an Earth elemental
We enter the cave. It’s Just Rock.
The kenku and Krieg have a quiet conversation where Cipher convinces Krieg that Khione is after the pen
I notice a large brown root surrounded by smaller brambly offshoots is blocking the path and stop the convoy.
Krieg takes an axe and starts chopping away yet somehow misses, as if his axe was pulled away from his target.
Krieg turns around and asks the party for help. As he does so, the root whips Krieg and leaves a nasty mark.
Athredon discovers it is Magno Root, a magnetic root with the sentience as a venus fly trap. He casts the Light cantrip on a small piece of it. The party clears enough of the root to progress with the cart, and Athredon continues to use his piece of root as a light source.
Following this obstacle is more tunnel with cave fauna Athredon recognizes with some taking on some sort of evolution.
Jericho, inside the wagon, notices the light and a shimmer near the rear of the wagon. “Athredon! You dumbass!” Jericho gets hit by something and knocked on his ass. He sees a pair of yellow eyes in the darkness and without hesitation, shoots. “I fucking told you!”
A dark mass lunges at Jericho.
The tunnel opens to a large cavern with a ceiling that resembles the stars. Trees are growing here. The cave is warm and humid.
Jerico notices a plant moving in a deliberate manner. Its moving around him laterally, kind of like circling around. The foilage is too thick to see much more.
There are two caves with worn passages and another cave with no signs of wear.
scorpion contraption made of fungus shocked Athredon while he was searching for edible mushrooms. They scared each other.
Khione lights a lantern. Any bioluminescence affected by its life dims and turns off.
Khione extinguishes the lantern. The bioluminescence returns after a time, but the glow doesn’t return nearly as quickly near one cave compared to the others.
the cave has a shit smell and a raging river ahead. Athredon suffers poisoning from the foul shit smelling air that seems to be closing in from the rear.
Krieg kicks and kills an excremini elemental. It was curious and he fucking killed it. The water elemental witnessed this and avoided Krieg.
The roar of the river hasn’t quite left our ears.
